i first met tucker & rachel through one of my old roommates and then soon after that, they started going to church with us! it’s been fun getting to know them over the last year! our afternoon on broad ave was a chilly one but we shared some laughs (and even a few tears!) and their dog lucy was so sweet!
a few weeks ago i met madi for the first time to hear her wedding plans and to share a little about how i could serve her in this season. “we actually just got engaged on september 1st, choose 901 day!”, she said. “wait, you did?! so did we!”, i replied. and as we continued to talk, it turns out that we were both at the peabody hotel that same day, just a few hours a part! so fun! little did madi know, fields had been creating riddles and taking her on dates for MONTHS that would eventually lead up to THE DATE at the peabody and THE QUESTION:)
then a few weeks later, i got to hang out with both madi & fields together! we explored some of their favorite places to hang out and grabbed dinner afterwards- meanwhile talking about wedding plans and everything we’ve learned about relationships so far. cannot wait for their may wedding!
i met up with will and elizabeth on a perfect sunday afternoon and we had so much fun capturing this season of their lives! you would never know that it’s october by these images but that’s the south for ya! these two know how to laugh and enjoy the little moments which in turn means that there is so much joy in their lives that blesses those around them!
will graduated from mississippi state last year and moved up to memphis to pursue a career in accounting. meanwhile, elizabeth is finishing up her accounting degree just in time for their wedding next spring! so excited for all that the coming months hold for these two!
the more i get to be apart of weddings and the more i delve into planning my own, the more i’m convinced that your community is what can bring unity to the day. it was so special to witness michael and sarah’s friends and family coming together to serve and celebrate! m’s mama & sisters cooked an incredible soul food meal for the rehearsal dinner the night before and s’s fam and friends created and intimate atmosphere for their ceremony and reception. what started out as a dark, humid day quickly gave way to sunshine by the time they were ready to say ‘i do’! and from the sweet symbolic service of washing each others fee to the ice cream and cake dance (shout-out to their kaa roots!), every part of this day spoke of their love for Jesus and love for people! i hope you’re filled with joy as you browse these images! we’re big fans of mr & mrs johnson!
it’s been so much fun hearing the progress reports over the last year as mary margaret planned their wedding and zach renovated parts of their new home in preparation for their new life together! mm + z met while on staff at sos several summers ago and eventually both moved to Memphis for school, internships & work. it’s been so fun watching them invest themselves in this community and care for the needs of the city.
all year long we had been anticipating their august wedding with a little trepidation only because august in memphis can be brutally hot! but, thank you Jesus, we had a glorious few days of cooler weather just in time for their wedding which made for a beautiful day! two of my favorite memories were getting to witness their first look and capturing them as they shared communion during the ceremony. those short moments just between them and the Lord are so sweet and i know they help to cement the significance of the day when everything else is a whirlwind! excited to share these images 🙂
hey mr & mrs pappas! y’all are married!!
